From seed to flower to the page. Planted and grown by me, this piece took approximately 60 hours to complete. The process is long, with the detail being teased out but the results are worth it. Like most of my pieces, I love depth of field. There is a focus within the flower and the bud, with the out of focus background. In a way, we are seeing the ‘before’ and the ‘after’, the bud which will transition into the flower. This contrast will always speak to me. This piece won the Curators prize in the Hodgson Loom Gallery Easter exhibition 2024.
